What is the material of marine steel plate?

Marine steel plates refer to hot-rolled steel plates produced in accordance with the requirements of classification societies and used to manufacture ship hull structures. Shipbuilding steel plates are mainly used to manufacture the hulls and decks of ocean-going, offshore and inland waterway shipping vessels. Steel for hull structures is divided into two types: ordinary strength structural steel and high-strength structural steel. High-strength steel is divided into two strength grades and 3 OS quality grades: AH32, DH32, EH32, AH36, DH36, EH36, AH40, DH40 and EH40.

The working environment of ships is harsh. The hull shell must withstand the chemical corrosion, electrochemical corrosion of seawater, and the corrosion of marine organisms and microorganisms. The shipbuilding steel must also withstand the impact of large winds and waves and alternating loads, coupled with the complexity of ship processing. Therefore, the requirements for marine steel used in ship hull structures are very strict.
