What is ASTM A192?

ASTM A192 is the standard for minimum wall thickness seamless carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes suitable for high pressure applications. ASTM A192 is generally used for high-pressure boilers whose working pressure does not exceed 9.8Mpa. These tubes are available in both hot rolled and cold drawn conditions.

ASTM A192 pipe is made from carbon steel whose composition includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur. Its chemical composition is designed to provide good tensile and yield strength as well as corrosion resistance. ASTM A192 Carbon Steel Pipe is typically manufactured by hot finishing or cold finishing processes. Cold drawn tubing is also available.
