ASTM A242 weathering steel plate is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel with better atmospheric corrosion resistance and higher temperature resistance. It includes ASME, ASTM and other specifications.
In the ASTM A242 weathering steel sheet specification, there are two grades: Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is the more widely used grade of structural steel and is recognized for its versatility.

Additionally, ASTM A242 corten steel sheet metal can withstand sustained temperatures of 800 degrees Fahrenheit.
