TZM Molybdenum Alloy steel (TZM alloy) has a higher recrystallization temperature, higher room temperature and high temperature strength, and hardness than pure molybdenum. TZM alloy provides twice the strength of pure molybdenum at temperatures in excess of 1300 °C. TZM alloys have a recrystallization temperature approximately 250°C higher than molybdenum and have better weldability. For high-strength applications such as rocket nozzles, furnace structural components and forging dies, the cost difference is well worth it.
TZM alloys are available in plate, sheet, tube, rod and TZM alloy bar form in essentially the same size range as pure molybdenum, with the exception of thin foils. The TZM alloy produced by our company is manufactured using powder metallurgy (P/M) process.
