Nickel Alloys product description

Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are solid solution strengthened commercial pure wrought alloys. The elemental limits of both alloys are combined into a dual-certified chemical composition, resulting in a single alloy with the desired properties of both alloys. Carbon content becomes critical when operating temperatures are expected to exceed 600°F. The low carbon content of Nickel 201 makes the material resistant to graphitization and therefore less prone to embrittlement. In accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, pressure vessels and components may be constructed of Nickel Alloy Steel Pipe 201 for maximum service temperatures up to 1250°F.

Industries and Applications

Nickel 200/201 is used in large quantities in the chemical and electronic industries. It is also used in the aerospace, petrochemical, power generation and marine/offshore engineering industries. Typical applications for Nickel 200/201 include electronic and electroplating components, alkali evaporators, food processing equipment, alkali handling and storage equipment, synthetic fiber production, salt production and other processes using sodium hydroxide and fluorine.
