Niobium-Tungsten Alloy Nb521 rods have similar density (8.6-9.0 g-cm-3) and better high-temperature strength than C103 alloy. However, due to the addition of a large number of strengthening elements (e.g. W and Mo), the ingot has a higher room temperature strength and poorer plasticity. During ingot processing, high-temperature extrusion is mostly used to refine the ingot grain. After extrusion, the plasticity of the alloy ingot is greatly improved, and the required specifications of bars, plates and forgings, spinning parts can be obtained through forging, rolling, spinning and other processing methods.
