Niobium (Nb) Rod ASTM B392
Niobium (Nb), formerly known as columbium, is a chemical element with an atomic number of 41. It is primarily a plastic, gray, soft transition metal.
Other applications for niobium include welding, the nuclear industry, electronics, optics, numismatics and jewelry. In the latter two applications, niobium's low toxicity and anodic coloring ability are particular advantages. Coating glass with ultrafine niobium powder improves the glass' ability to transmit light without absorbing or refracting it. This coating also makes the glass more anti-glare. Niobium-coated glass is used in camera lenses, TVs and computer screens.
