It can be seen that the nickel content is an important standard that reflects the quality of austenitic stainless steel pipes. Nickel is an important metal element to improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel pipes, but the corrosion resistance of nickel can only play its role when combined with chromium. When 8% nickel is added to steel with a chromium content of 18% and the carbon content is about 0.1%, nickel can expand the passivation ability of stainless steel pipes and improve the oxidation resistance of the surface of stainless steel pipes, greatly improving the corrosion resistance of stainless steel pipes. This ratio of stainless steel is solution treated at a temperature below 1000 degrees, and with the help of rapid cooling, it can become what we often call austenitic stainless steel pipes (also known as: 18-8 type chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel pipes).

Austenitic stainless steel pipes have the following characteristics:

1. First of all, it has high corrosion resistance, needless to say, and generally will not rust in normal use environment.

2. Secondly, austenite is generally non-magnetic at room temperature, but sometimes it also shows weak magnetism when cold processed. This is why our stainless steel square tubes and rectangular tubes are sometimes weakly magnetic. When the steel strip is produced into a stainless steel tube, it is first rolled into a round tube, then welded, and then the four corners are extruded into a square tube or a rectangular tube. This process is completed by cold processing.

3. It has good ductility and plasticity. It is generally not easy to deform after forming. Austenitic stainless steel pipes cannot change their mechanical properties by heat treatment methods, and can only be strengthened by cold processing to deform them. This feature is widely used by us in the secondary processing of stainless steel pipes, such as the bending and rounding of stainless steel pipes and the production of stainless steel anisotropic pipes.

4. Another very important feature of austenitic pipes is weldability. Weldability is one of the very important characteristics that makes austenitic pipes widely used. Almost all of our stainless steel pipe products are produced and manufactured by welding. When welding austenitic pipes, it can be ensured that they are not easily deformed during welding and the welds remain firm.
