Product Description

Non-Oriented Electrical Steel CRNGO fully processed steels are iron-silicon alloys with varying silicon contents and have similar magnetic properties in all directions in plan of the sheet. Non-oriented Electrical steels are principally used for motors, generators, alternators, ballasts, small Transformers and a variety of other electromagnetic applications.

Non-oriented electrical steel does not use a secondary recrystallization process to develop its properties and does not require high-temperature annealing. Therefore, a lower limit on silicon (such as that required for the orientation level) is not necessary.

Non-grain-oriented electrical steel grades contain 0.5% to 3.25% silicon and up to 0.5% Al, the addition of which increases resistivity and lowers the temperature of primary recrystallization. The grain growth of non-oriented electrical steel grades (CRNGO) is very ideal, but is usually much smaller than that of CRGO grades of grain-oriented electrical steels.

Non-grain-oriented steel CRNGO is less sensitive to strain than oriented products. Therefore, shear strain is the only strain effect, which degrades the magnetic quality. Since the lamination is usually large, these shear strains can be tolerated. Most fully machined grades are used as stamped laminates in applications such as rotors and stators.

Non-oriented electrical steel (CRNGO) has random orientation. They are commonly used in large rotating equipment, including electric motors, generators, and AC alternators. Fully machined steels are given a "full" strand anneal (to produce optimal magnetic qualities), making them softer and more difficult to stamp than semi-machined products. Materials with higher alloy content are harder and therefore easier to stamp.
