Non-Oriented Electrical Steel are widely used as core materials of motors. The magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel have a large influence on motor efficiency.Manufacturing processes such as punching, shearing, pressing during stacking, welding, bonding, automatic staking or riveting, and pressing into a frame are also known to deteriorate the magnetic properties of electrical steel sheets.Since punching and shearing are the main processes contributing to deterioration of the magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel, previous studies focused mainly on degradation of magnetic properties by the punching and shearing processes.Simulation of the punching process and calculation of the magnetic field have also been attempted in order to estimate iron loss deterioration.

Surface Insulation Characteristics
Electrical steels come with a thin layer of surface oxide, having sufficient insulating ability for most small cores. The insulation of coating Type C-0 can be improved during the heat treatment by employing a slightly oxidizing atmosphere.
Mechanical Requirements
1. Lamination Factor:
The lamination factor is determined using Test Method A719/A719M. It should be as high as possible.
2. Ductility:
As per ASTM A683-16, the material should be as ductile as possible, consistent with meeting magnetic requirements.
