Sus 1 Inch 316L Stainless Steel Plates
Better resistance in many atmospheric environments and various aggressive environments compared to grade 304.
Resistant to stress corrosion cracking at temperatures above 122°F (50°C).
Good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments.
Corrosion resistance to potable water over a range of ambient temperatures is up to 1000 mg/L chloride, decreasing to approximately 500 mg/L at 140°F.
316/316L steel is commonly known as "marine grade Stainless Steel" although it is not resistant to warm seawater.
Product description
316L is a low carbon version of 316. Same as 316 except lower carbon content. Low carbon content prevents the formation of carbide deposits in the temperature range from 800°F to 1500°F. It is usually used for welding large areas.
Grade 316L has stronger antioxidant capacity than Grade 316 in the marine environment. It is resistant to low temperatures and exhibits better overall strength.
Grade 316L can be hardened by cold working. Shows good weldability. Post-weld annealing is not required.
